What's the best way to save threads, bookmark or whatever?
I find myself searching for stuff I've seen on here before a lot to post as reference to noobs. Sometimes it's easy NES Bartop, search it and bam there it is....
Other times it's a pain in the ass, like I'm trying to find this build that was wood grain all in one MAME control panel that had Street Fighter graphics. Try putting those search words in the search column :dizzy:
So if I want to rathole something away to recall later, what's the best way?
Also does anyone else remember that build?

This is a pretty good question so I'm curious what others' solutions are.
I do one of 2 things:
1. I use a good old fashioned browser bookmarks. BUT I rename the bookmark in Chrome to something like "Bad-ass Q-bert restore" or "good thread for artwork vendors" (Then you can get really fancy and dump them in bookmark folders with labels like "artwork", "restores", "joysticks", "how-to", etc. )
2. I simply subscribe to the thread and then look up that thread in my "Profile"

All well and good when someone wants to know how to hook up 5V to their buttho.... err I mean LEDs, but when it comes to critical feedback sometimes it's really helpful to show people what their cab COULD look like instead of trying to tell them they messed up.

Bookmarks and subscribing work well if you're the only one who needs access to the info/links.
If you want others to be able to access the info/links, you could make a meta-thread (Is that the right term?) like ChanceKJ's So, You want to build a Classic Nintendo Cab? (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,144583.0.html) or SirPeale's stickied Before Asking For Help, Read This First! Link to FAQ and bookmarks of interest (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,19049.0.html).
You could even break it into bite-size chunks with the OP linking to posts/threads that cover a given topic like angled joysticks or how to wire a potentiometer.

It's a good idea, it's just I didn't know I'd want to recall that build at the time I was first looking at it....

I use the Add Bookmark button located on the top right of the thread.
It's not there on all the forum themes. IIRC, I'm using the "curve" theme.
All the threads I want preserved for posterity are in post hell. ;D
