Title: Ridge racer unbounded problem assistance
Post by: Cretster on April 29, 2013, 04:54:20 pm
Hi guys, it might seem a little odd in reference to driving cabs to bring up this game since it has no wheel/pedal support, but I bought it anyway and decided to use it with a 360 controller.

Now the problem I have is that with my Logitech wheel plugged into the USB port, the game crashes every time when trying to begin a race.  If I unplug the wheel/pedals this doesn't happen and the game works fine with the 360 pad.  No problem most would say, just unplug those controls if I want to play this game, but it's not that easy.

I have to move my cabinet out from the wall in order to disconnect the wheel, so I'm really hoping someone will have a solution for making the game play ok despite the wheel/pedals still being hooked up.
I'm pretty new to using modern PC games so if there's an easy way to get round this you'll have to forgive my noobness.

And I hope I'm not upsetting people by posting about a driving game in a driving cab (sort of) that doesn't support driving controls, but I like the ridge racer franchise for my sins!

Cheers
Jim

What happens if you disable the logitech device in device manager (Do not uninstall, just disable). Right hand click my computer, properties, Hardware, Device manager.

This is going to sound really dumb, but I can't actually spot it within Device Manager unless it comes under one of the USB devices (it's not labelled obviously in there anyway).
Under the game controllers (Sound, Video and Game Controllers) it's not shown.

In Joy.cpl you can't disable it either.  Sure I'm being stupid here but it's been a long day!

Thanks for the suggestion anyway.  :)

It probably shows up as a U-Hid device then (Which could be pretty much any device) I will have a look at mine when I get home tonight and try to find an easy way of telling which device it is.
