Does anyone know if this particular multi-sync can be damaged by hi-res boot screens sending it signals that are out of it's range?

If the monitor produces an out-of-range message like a lot of PC CRTs and LCDs will, then I'd say you were fine. Otherwise it's a bad idea to deliberately and repeatedly drive a CRT beyond its range. For testing is ok, but not every time you turn it on.

If you are using Windows 7 with a CRT you'll always have problems with the boot animation.
Same for me.
My Try-sinc goes up to ~40kHz. But during startup it also says "out of range" for a while until the desktop apears.
Until now I have not found a way to change it.

No, no. If Windows 7 doesn't find vesa mode 1024x768 it defaults to 640x480 mode Vista-like logo boot. Once you flash your card for 15 kHz that's how it works.
I've no experience with 10 however.

I'm using windows 10 and I couldn't get Atom-15 to work with my R9 380. So I'm thinking that as a workaround I could disable the windows 10 login screen, then set a song to automatically play when windows starts up. So I start up my computer leaving the monitor off, then when I hear the music I know it's booted into windows and is outputting an in-range signal.

So I'll have to get rid of 1024x768 somehow.
Is there another way instead of flashing the 15kHz patch?
My CRT is a trisync which can also display modes up to 31khZ and even more.
And I don't want to loose these modes because of the vertical and hires games.
Can I do something with vmmaker to get rid of the 1024x768 only?

When you patch the BIOS with ATOM-15, only check the 31 kHz box. That will force all boot modes into 31 kHz. 1024x768 will be interlaced. All should be smooth.
What you change in the BIOS has no effect of what resolutions you'll have later available in Windows. It's just for the boot that it matters.
