Title: Tube Discharge
Post by: djfender on March 24, 2018, 03:02:12 pm
Ok so, ive discharged a little tiny 5" 12v powered TV and it gave an impressive SNAP fizz fizz before completely discharging.

What should i expect from a 25 inch class tube? Should i inform my neighbor i didnt just shoot a .22 rifle?

Electricians gloves, thick wire, screwdriver, one hand behind back... I regularly tinker with caps but not tv sizes :)

depends on the chassis, most later chassis have built in bleed resistors so you get nothing at all- older chassis tend to give a bit of a zap
I never bother to discharge nanao ms9 or polo 25 but polo 20 do hold a charge- better to be safe than sorry, although I would say I have never heard anyone dying from an ht shock from a crt
