Title: Time to open the wiki up?
Post by: saint on February 23, 2006, 09:24:24 pm
Anyone see any reason not to open the wiki up to the masses? I'm reading the system admin and editors guides now (hey, did everyone hear Woogie cringe just now?) and I'm sure there'll be various tweaks still to come, but I don't see any reason not to let people start exploring/adding content if they're so inclined. Comments?

Was talking to HowardC about it, and he raised a good point. Having the masses work on content is presumably a good thing - however, there probably should be more organization laid out before then that is protected from casual editing (ala some of the posts elsewhere in here about Project Arcade/categories)...

SO - gonna take a stab at that between now and this weekend I hope.  In the meantime, invited a few more folks to take a look:

"Ken Layton", "menace", "mahuti", "Pixelhugger", "paigeoliver", "Minwah", "nostrebor"

I'm thinking let it simmmer a bit, mebbe another week or more?

I just started to diddle around a bit more with some stuff, and I can foresee a serious problem at this time with information quickly becoming jumbled and/or lost due to the point Howard brings up.
