Title: VJoy Virtual Joystick Driver v1.2
Post by: headkaze on February 01, 2010, 08:13:17 am
VJoy Virtual Joystick is a driver and icon tray application for converting keystrokes into joystick input. It supports two virtual joysticks as well as command line control. It has signed drivers and supports 64-bit systems such as Vista and Windows 7.

Visit VJoy Website (http://headsoft.com.au/index.php?category=vjoy)

VJoy Virtual Joystick Driver v1.2 released!

- 2 Joysticks
- 8 Axes with a range of -32768 to 32767
- 32 Buttons
- 4 POV's

VJoy SDK v1.2 is now available for using VJoy in your own applications. There are many real world applications using VJoy right now such as a Steel Batallion Controller, replacing axes for Flight Simulator, head tracking, using Wiimotes and Kinect to control games or even to interface with robots. Some of the things people are using VJoy for are pretty amazing! Check out the new VJoy SDK v1.2 which includes source code to control the drivers in languages such as C++, C#, VB.NET, Delphi and VB6.

I've been asked if this is like PPJoy and I'll answer the same here..

It does more or less do what PPJoy's KeyToJoy functionality but it has some advantages even though a new version of PPJoy has been released recently with 64-bit support.

- VJoy has signed drivers
- It has a much nicer program that runs in the icon tray
- It supports key blocking (although unfortunately Vista and Win7 contains a bug that makes this not work)
- No more having this unsightly floating app that you have to try and hide and kill off later
- No annoying virtual joysticks to setup and install - you get two of them ready to go

If you want parallel port to joystick support you will need to get PPJoy instead.

BTW Coding drivers is a PITA!

l would like to thank you Headkaze for an excellent program. l was using ppjoykey but this is way better for it launches at the start , and there's no need to start ini's before exe for programs to pick up virtual joysticks.
thankyou once again  :applaud:

Works pretty nicely overall.   However I can't seem to bind the x,y axis in the dreamcast version of makaron no matter how I try to work around it.
Seems like the emulator is kinda picky about what it detects for that, unfortunately.

I diddent think you have time to create application like this due our unannonced game :-D. Not tested it.

but nice to see a app like this, that can been used by all frontends (includning mine), and not just your favorites one.

Good work!!!

I wrote this last year but only just released it. I wouldn't have time to write it now! ;)

Key blocking now suddenly works with me on Win 7 (32-bit). If I remember correctly it didnīt work before. What could be the reason for this ?

Wonderful program - just wish it also would support key to mouse.  ;)

Indeed, you're a  brave soul for taking something like this on!

Looks like a nice app.

Quick question...instead of using keyboard keys, can you assign buttons and analog inputs from *other* joysticks to the virtual joysticks in VJOY?

Not using my app but GlovePie was recently updated to support the VJoy drivers so you might want to check that out.

isamu: Wrong thread. That program you mention is 'vJoy' which is a clone of my original 'VJoy' program here (http://headsoft.com.au/index.php?category=vjoy).

Isn't the author (Shaul) so thoughtful and courteous in that he was nice enough to put the 'v' in his name in lower case? I'm thinking of coming out with a new burger joint and calling it mcDonalds. Notice the lower case 'm' so as not to confuse it with McDonalds? I'm such a creative thinker aren't I?  ;D

Can you please delete your post as it is not relevant to my application in any way whatsoever apart from promoting a competing product by a guy who obviously doesn't even have the common courtesy to name his product something different. IMHO he's using my VJoy application to promote his own and draw traffic from my established name.

There are some really unscrupulous people in the software industry I can tell you

HOLY ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- are you serious??!!!!! So you're NOT Shaul? Wow....so sorry man, I obviously didn't know. Wow, this is some crazy Twilight Zone ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---!!!  :dizzy: I can't believe there's two of these programs out there that are so similar. Have you tried contacting Shaul to let him know about your displeasure in seeing the ripoff vJoy?

Oh and out of curiosity what exactly are the differences between yours and his, if there are any?

Anyway I'll delete the post. My bad dude.  :banghead:

Hey,
Im having some problems with VJoy SDK.
Im using CodeBlocks (C++), and I created project, included files into it, and linked VJoy.lib

But I'm still getting ld.exe -cannot find -lVJoy.lib error.
It would be great help if someone would help me, or upload sample of working project :)

I know this is an old thread but wanted to ask anyway.

I'm running Win7 in a shelled environment (no explorer.exe) but VJoy seems to not like that. I'm guessing it's because of the taskbar. Has someone figured out how to run Headsoft VJoy without explorer.exe? thanks.
