Title: Noob question on measurements from book plans
Post by: koinsatx on September 04, 2008, 08:57:09 pm
I have started my project and have decided to build my first MAME box following the Ulitmate Arcade II plans from the back of the book. I have printed them out and started putting the measurements down on MDF.  I have run into a small problem and hope someone can explain what I am missing.

Many of the front and rear panels (D,H, etc) have their width labeled as -  1   1/4"     where other examples specifically say 1' 1/4".

I understand the last example is 1 foot and 1/4 inch, but what is the first example?  does this also mean a foot and a 1/4"  that makes for a pretty small width cabinet? ;)

I am confused on the width of the front and back panels.

Any help someone can provide on the plans would be greatly appreciated for someone just starting.  Thanks a  ton!

After doing some more research on the board, I finally found the answer in a conversation from 2004.  It seems that certain panels up top are width - 1 14", which means whatever width you are using minus the 1 1/4".  I don't know how I miss read that originally but thanks to this board for providing some much valuable knowledge and tips.
