New clip from The Ben Show that I worked on. Very NSFW. Premieres Feb 28th on Comedy Central.
Enjoy!
The Ben Show - Preview - YoBitchuaries - Uncensored (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJJS3QoO_dQ#ws)

Can you get in trouble for leaking clips and such prior to the airing?
-
I seriously hope those are fictional people.
-
:laugh2:

No, that's actually Comedy Central uploading the preview clips.
-

Maybe. Maybe not :)
-
Holy crap I can't stop laughing. Asbestos in da buildin.
-
That was retarded
-
:laugh:That was pretty funny. Is it going to be all "bleep bleep bleep bleep" when it airs on Comedy Central though?
-
:dunno
Do you know key and peele? Now THOSE guys are funny
-
Yeah, not a fan of Key and Peele. To each their own!
The show premieres TONIGHT on Comedy Central, 10pm Eastern. Please tune in and check it out!
Here is another preview clip. Definitely NSFW:

Yup. Idea's fine. Words suck.
-
The new ones pretty racist (you need to be clever to be satire)
I don't like this ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- at all. Sorry man, lucky for you the general masses are pretty easily amused so you might have some success
-
You are 100% correct. They are easily amused, that's why Key & Peele are so popular. Not to mention horrible shows like 2 1/2 Men. Literally the most popular comedy on television while brilliant shows like Arrested Development get cancelled. Unreal.
Thanks for checking it out though. Different strokes for different folks!
-
I'm happy for you and wish you nothing but success, but I didn't think it was all that funny. To put it in perspective, my favorite comedians are Bill Burr, Patrice O'Neal, and Paul F Tompkins. O'Neal was BRILLIANT and should have been much more popular and famous than he was.
-
Thanks Malenko!
O'Neal was great, not that big of fan of Burr. I like Paul F. Tompkins mainly from his appearances on Mr. Show which I consider the greatest sketch show of all time.
Here's a preview clip from tonight's show. NSFW. Check it out if you can!

That was terrible. Since the advent of Jim Carey, who is funny sometimes, 'over-the-top' and 'plainly crude' have become the methods of (wannabe) comedians. And they're all tenors.......the white ones anyways........
-
Thanks for checking it out, Gray. I agree that Jim Carey is hit or miss, too.
-
I don't think folks are "getting" the jist of these clips. I guess if you have to explain it, it's not funny, but it is if you understand what they are doing.
It's shock social satire, and pretty good IMHO. But my funny bone runs pretty deep. :)

Shock social satire stopped being funny when South Park rammed it down our throats and then Family Guy dropped the satire while upping the shock. When those two shows made eleventy billion dollars we got clone after clone after clone in all forms until the whole genre lost all intelligence and all funny and became Wil Ferrell.

So there's no room for other entries in a genre which make someone laugh? I mean, it's all been done. Comedy is an art form, and funny is in the eye of the beholder. The kid with the cell phone was very well done, but I guess it boils down to whether you appreciate the message. It's very easy for folks to take stuff like this personally, and see themselves as the target.
Is it time for slapstick to make a comeback? Chevy, where are you? :)
-

To be fair I didn't watch the second video because the first one was a young person making jokes about old people who died of things like cancer. That's about as far from what I consider humor as possible. :dunno
-
I watched about a minute of each before turing them off, but I'm probably not their target audience anyway.

Don't shoot the messenger ;)
-
Thanks, Randy!
Check out the other ones Chad, you might like them! Also, those people in the Yobitchuaries don't exist. It's fiction.
Regardless, thanks for watching guys and keep spreading the word if you like it! Our ratings went up from last week so it's looking good for a second season!
Thanks again
Also, Chad. You really should give South Park another shot. The last 4 years have been their best ever. It's some of the smartest writing that's ever been done in television comedy and easily the best satire out there. Family Guy is just terrible.
-
Chevy, where are you? :)
On "Community" for the past few years. ;)
(But he just quit before filming the last couple of eps of the season.)

I mentioned that early in the thread and you wouldn't answer it. Now they don't exist. ::)

C'mon, it wasn't obvious? Using real folks wouldn't serve the purpose of what they were doing and make them ideologically identical to those they were ripping on.
-
Family Guy is just terrible.
Re: Family Guy and shock comedy. Family Guy isn't even trying comedy anymore, just "shock". Dark humor is fine but FG presents a rather disturbing or disgusting image and that's supposed to be the joke. Oh, and let that "joke" run for five solid minutes - even if it's a Conway Twitty performance (yeah kids, Conway Twitty, your favorite). Comedic gold! ::) Yes, I'm bitter that a once beloved show took such a huge dump.
Anyway, the clips you presented are doing a much better job at shock comedy, if that's even the intention. I totally get the absurdity of a rapper using obits for material or a coach who's over-the-top racist but seems to not realize it. And the premise of that last clip played out quite well. I dunno - I thought it was entertaining.
But again - does this air on CC with bleeping or is it aired at a time when they can curse? Sorry, I don't have cable anymore so I can't check for myself...
-

It might have been obvious if the dialog were funny. Even without considering the content it wasn't funny enough to give them the benefit of the doubt. It's the sort of thing an immature 7th grader would do for their Video Art extracirricular project.
-
I heard Ben on the Greg Fitzsimmons podcast; the YoBitchuaries definitely made me crack up! Hope it does well!

"It's the sort of thing an immature 7th grader would do for their Video Art extracirricular project."
Man, I seriously love that. In a positive way though. I get to make a living acting like an immature 7th grader. I'm one of the lucky ones. Different strokes for different folks, Chaz!
Here's a link to last nights full episode if anyone would like to check it out. There's a really funny cameo by Norm Macdonald:

Whether you like it or hate it, thanks for giving it a chance!

Sorry, Dave. It is mostly censored on Comedy Central but I'm still shocked at what they allow. You can watch all of the episodes on CC's website the night after they air, completely uncensored.
-
Yeah, I thought that was pretty obvious....
Dude, you're getting honest feedback from viewers and completely blowing it off.
<Cartman>Weeeeeeak.</Cartman>

I think comedy should be given up for lint....um, lent, and that adopted for eternity. Except in a personal manner/manner. I'm comedic all ---smurfin--- day. All for myself. Don't need no stinkin comedy shows, not even when I was less....affluent.
-
Back to shill my show on Comedy Central TONIGHT!
Includes a cameo by Wolowitz from The Big Bang Theory!

I have to question this now having found Archer. A rare one, though.
