hey all, i just got myself a cocktail,
ive removed the legs because rust wasnt its best friend, they were lovers! >.<!
anyways
it used to be an old driving cocktail, im sure i saw something be it on here
or else where, where someone converted a driving cocktail to the normal
standard sexi looking ones.. i guess the question is
what could i use to make the CP's ? i will post the pics of the cocktail when i can
so perhaps a better look would make more sense
also where could i get a new set of legs for it as well?
sorry for being so 'generic' in my questions :)
thanks guys

[edit]
ok heres the pics of the cocktail as promised,

Sand the legs and paint them, do not toss them out.

Yeah what he said!
If the rust pitting is bad, sand them back to metal and use some car filler to smooth them out and then paint them.
Look forward to pics.

I agree.. do not throw out those legs unless it is so bad that there are huge holes in them and they fall apart at the touch.
The legs on my Sega Cocktail were pretty bad when I got it, but some sanding, priming, and paint and they look damn nice now.

thanks for the reposts so far guys,
from what i understand it had some water damage at some stage (left in a shed for a while not from me!! lol)
what can i do about the decaying wood coming from the bottom of it?
anyone know exactly what type of cab it would be?
-
The wood doesn't look that bad..some sanding and woodfiller unless you can stick your finger in it and break it off.
-
The details I can see tells me it was originally an off-brand japanese made space invaders clone. The picture tube mounted directly to a piece of wood gives it away. It might have possibly been a different game, but the invaders clone would be the most common.
-
nah the picture tube is from
another project im doing with an upright cabinet
the cab has what appears 4 metal brackets to go directly into the tubes mounted holes
it didnt come with a tube in it, but i wouldnt discount the wood theory,
when it came to me it had a steering wheel and pedals attached which were completely
ratshit, appears a 19/20 inch monitor would be the go in it

Hmm, driving cocktail is likely a conversion or something early sega or early taito.

thanks for the ideas guys,
lemme ask what can i do in regards to the controls?
as you can see there is only a certain gap as where i could do so much
as i have no expirence with cocktails, im not to sure what i could to
to maybe construct the control panels or if i could buy ready made ones etc
thanks for the helps guys
