Im finally getting around to really screwing with my SNES mini and at first I was adding *everything* ; made navigation a nightmare and I know I'd never play Barney's hide and seek on the genesis nor would I really spend any time with Barbie and the magic of the Pegasus on GBA. So I've been pruning game lists en mass.
I *don't* want to miss any gems of games, so I'm counting on you guys to give me some advice on what I need to make sure stays on here.
SNES,NES,TG16/TGCD, Sega-32x-CD,Game Gear, Gameboy, GBA, Playstation(PSX), etc what ever cores run on retro arch for the mini I'd like to know what to put on there. You like MKII better on the 32x than the SNES, thats fine. I dont mind having the same game on there more than once. Suggest away!
Homebrew and hacks (like UMK3 hack on Genesis) are fine to suggest as well as long as they are good games.

No arcade suggestions though, Im really iffy on adding the MAME cores.

It wont run gauntlet legends. I have a pi3 collecting dust, if I used one of them Id have to buy controllers and a case; even if I did want to use a pi I'd still want to know what games other people like to give a go. I was hoping some people would list some fun obscure gameboy games n stuff. I like discovering old gems.

Do a google search for “100 best genesis games” and all the other systems, cull what you’re uninterested in. That’s how I make sure I have all le gems.

Yeah that was the obvious starting point, and now here we are. The problem with going strictly by those lists is its the same 20 games in different orders. Yeah, I'm gonna have all the popular ones but I havent seen Robotniks mean bean machine on any of the lists and its a great game (because its pnickies/puyo puyo); and those are the kind of games I wanna make sure I have. Conquest of the Crystal Palace is one of my fave NES games but its never on any "top anything" lists :( I have pretty good knowledge of NES,SNES,Genesis/CD/32x but I don't know a ton about master system, turbo graphix, and even most PSX stuff. I dont think I'll bother adding any atari games, well maybe barnstorming for old times sake :p
I'd also like to put in the cool hacks like the MKII and UMK3 Genesis ones.

TG16- Military Maddness... I could play that game forever.
32x- Doom, Shadow Squadron, Virtua Racing, Star Wars
CD- Lords of Thunder, Road Rash, Snatcher, Sonic CD, Eternal Champions CD, Terminator
Genesis, There is a lot, buy my all time favs are Road Rash (all of them), Eternal Champions, X-men, X-men2, Streets of Rage (all of them), MK1, Street Fighter 2, Golden Axe (all of them), Sonic (all of them), Comix zone, Vectorman.
PS1- Only games I really liked were the Twisted Metals 1 and 2.

As far as hacks on the snes go, there are 2 good chrono trigger games, Prophets guile, and flames of eternity. Prophets guile is like a 2 hour or less game that is a magus side story. Flames of eternity is a sequel.
There is a good (hard as hell) donkey kong country 1 hack
And at least 1 or 2 good Link to the past and metroid hacks worth playing. Also a ton of super mario world hacks, but finding the good ones is a chore.

Added, I always liked DDII better, but theres plenty of room for all 3.
Every 32x game is getting added (except Sangokushi IV, Romance of the 3 kingdoms in Japanese is beyond my knowledge of the language) since there are only 40 of them (including the 6 32XCD games), despite Night Trap and Slam City being just awful. I'll keep SoR3 but add Burning Knuckle 3 w/ English patch. I had all the rest except for Super Kick off, so I'll add that into the mix.
Had all your SNES games but instead of just the first Final Fight I have it, FF Guy, FF2 and FF3 :) No WWF RAW though, if I wanna scratch that itch I prefer SCD Rage in the Cage. I also have Ballz on the SNES instead of the MegaDrive, it plays a little better and is a little more colorful. SNES list attached, some of your suggestions come with the mini so they arent on the list.
As for the PSX, Im only using the SNES pads so I need to make sure any suggestions dont use all 4 shoulder buttons and they have to support Dpad only (no analogs)

I'll definitely add Military Madness, all the lists for TG16 are peppered with Bonk/Zonk and honestly I don't think those games are very fun. Rtype for TG16 is kind of amazing. I loved TM2 on PSX, so I'll see how it runs and if the SNES pad covers the button requirements. I already had all those Genesis games, I actually probably need to prune that down, I still have over 200 genesis games.

The res evil games didnt age well and require too many buttons. I'll probably add CB3, I think it was the best of the bunch.

Battle Kid - Fortress of Peril ? Never heard of it, wanna make sure that's the right game. As for Zelda II, I left it, I'll probably never play it but its there for the sake of being there. Its only 87Kb :)
I couldn't find a 3D box art for Bare Knuckle 3 so I sort of made my own based on the SoR3 (I didn't bother to change the spine title)

Nobody needs more than one NHL game.
Virtua Fighter on 32X is better than the arcade version.
I’ve been surprised at how good GBA games look on a big screen. Minish Cap might get replayed on my PiCart.

FF7 is over rated, I hated 8, but I'll add 9, it was a blast. Already added the Lunar games, prefer the PSX version over the SCD version. I'll add Tales of Destiny and the Arc collection but I think I'll pass on the rest, either dont run well on the SNES or use too many buttons.

Prince Of Persia sucks (as in its a great port of a game I just dont like) , all of the WWF games on the NES are pretty bad, but Pro Wrestling is a good call! Jaws too. I added the ones left up there. I went with the Tengen version of Tetris.

I have like 10 bust a move games or I'd add that one. Genesis Aladdin is a much better game. DKC,LttP, and SMW are already in the default list. SNES doom is ok, but I have the PSX version.

Added Tomb Raider, already had all the CB games. Nightmare Creatures didnt run that great (funny story it was the first game I ever tried on a PSX emulator back when they were terrible. It ran at like 2 fps and had garbage textures) Added Oddworld and Parappa, mentioned before res evil didnt age well and I already had Ridge racer and rage racer and R4 :)
