Post by: quadrider1 on October 18, 2010, 12:06:12 am
so trying to help this guy convert a cab into mame, i got everything down but how to use the original arcade monitor with the computer. I know about the VGA video card but does this hook up to all computers? And what is the power supply on this original monitor? Im just lost when it comes to these original parts.

By VGA video card I have to assume that you are meaning the arcadevga by ultimarc.   I does not connect to all computers as it is a pcie card and the computer must have a pcie slot.   The older version may still be available and it is for computers with an AGP slot.

The power source for the original monitor will depend on the monitor used.  A great many older arcade monitors need an isolation transformer to feed the 120 VAC thru.  Others have 120 VAC fed directly into the monitor.
