Title: Power Curcuit for Arcade Monitor
Post by: Mark on April 29, 2002, 09:16:52 am
Hi Everybody, (in a Dr. Nick voice)

Does anyone have the software that allows you to control, through the parallel port, the power or signal to an arcade monitor ?

I am using a Matrox G400 on a Wells-Gardner 7000 25" monitor in Windows 98SE.  I don't want the monitor on until the G400interlace program has finished running.  I know there are ways to do this in  DOS but what about Windows ?

I have a curcuit that is optically isolated that can switch on the power to the monitor.  If I could just send a signal to the parallel port to take one line high, I would be in business.

Thanks,

Mark

JPac is probably the best.  It will boost the signal, protect your monitor, and a few other items and also give you an encoder.

If you don't want to use that (and have an encoder)

There are some serial circuits you can build over at PCJamma project with batch files to turn it on/off.

I've also heard of people using home automation systems to control this.

JPac is the best solution i've heard of
