Title: Hard drive backup alternative to chdman
Post by: mclovin on November 16, 2016, 12:14:15 am
Hello all, I just thought i would pass on an awesome free program I found for backing up video game hard drives. Its called HDD Raw Copy Tool. I have tested it to work fast and flawless on a golden tee 2005, complete, 2009, 2016 & GT 2017. You can backup and restore from drive to drive direct and also to and from a compressed image file. You can even open up the widows disk management program from within the program.

All windows based, much easier and faster than chdman.

That's odd. My antivirus doesn't pickup any problems with mine.

in all likelihood it's just a false positive.

if the program is requesting direct access to the disk controller and modifies the boot sector...it is exhibiting virus like behavior. most EXE's people normally use don't do this. a Heuristic analysis type watchdog will pick this up as unusual.

it's probably fine, since this is what the program is made to do and we actually want it to do these things to the drive.

if it was a screensaver and wanted to modify the boot sector.... not so much.

well people do not have to believe me
but before u run it
back up your hd
as with 7 it will tear off the boot sector
it is very handy at it
in xp it seems tame enough
but 7-?
