The other day I scored a cheap 'SlikStik' Quad (I think it might actually be a Dreamauthentics Quad, but I doubt that makes a difference) on Craigslist that lacked the trackball and the 4 way stick. From what I can tell it's a fairly old unit and has an older version of Ipac4 on it.
The top pic looks just like the one in mine and the second one is the rear of mine, is there any way to give a general idea on when this model is from? I notice some of the software only works with newer boards. Would there be any benefit in buying a newer one? Are those header pins behind the PS2 ports used for an arcade trackball or would I need a PS2 style one and plug it to the Passthu?
He says the sticks are Happ Competition, they are recess mounted and are epoxied in place. They feel very light and I would like something with a bit more resistance. Since the top plate is adhered to the wood, would it be possible to take the rest of the joystick parts out and mount Eurosticks to the plates in there? They seem to line up and I heard they were made of of the same molds. If not would 125g switches and the heavy duty springs from Happ be overkill on my current sticks?
Finally, is a button hole the right size to mount a 4-way stick? I would like to put one in an existing hole unless it is going to cause problems. I have seen conflicting information on that, and since there is not a recess for it will I need to go with a long shaft version?
