Title: Javascript Security Warning
Post by: SlammedNiss on May 03, 2016, 06:06:39 pm
Got it once, closed out my web browser, and then opened the site again. Both times I got this popup. Getting ready to run malwarebytes, but was curious if anybody else is getting this?

javascript? what are you from 1990? does anybody still use java?

it should be blocked.... anything that hasn't been updated since 2009 needs to be blocked. java is one of those things.

most everyone moved on to html5

JavaScript and Java are completely different beasts and have NOTHING in common with each other.  JavaScript is still used pretty much everywhere.  This board uses it extensively.

As previously said, pretty much every single website in the world uses JavaScript either a little bit or in some cases extensively. In the case of this very webpage you are reading, JavaScript accounts for ~22% of the page load.

And yes, Java and JavaScript are 2 completely different things.
