Considering they just released a genesis hdmi console recently and it's.... and android tablet without the screen.... yeah, I'll pass until sega demands quality from their partners.

I cant get excited about this honestly.

Having been watching the Sega market lately I have noticed it is flooded with clones and re-hashes it does not need another!!

If it has even halfway decent Saturn emulation it'll be amazing.

I doubt it will.  Sega has been whoring itself out for years now... they don't care about the end product so long as they get paid.  Now if Nintendo had announced they were making these consoles I'd be excited as they demand a certain level of quality, but the retron guys can't even release a clone console without it wearing out in a year or two.

It's too early to get excited, but I'm definitely interested.

Retro-Bit's latest Super Retro-Cade unit is getting mostly good reviews. And as a company, they seem willing to improve their products based on feedback from their customers. So, in that respect, they're a cut above AtGames.

My main concern is that I don't believe the current gen of mobile phone SOCs really has the horsepower to emulate a Dreamcast satisfactorily. So I'm not sure how they could pull it off from a technical perspective, unless they're somehow able to take advantage of SEGA's inside knowledge of the Dreamcast's chipset, or the games' source code.

Yes, I am similarly curious how they will affordably emulate those systems. Saturn emulation was a pipe dream for so long I gave up on it.

I have a dreamcast and a tote full of game cd's.
some original and some not so original.
it's flakey with the games and reading them so i'd be interested in this if the price was right vs emulator.

i doubt it will play "back-ups" though.

dreamcast with hdmi and "less lag" on lcd monitor would be godlike.

I am assuming this is not emulation and they will dc games running full speed.
