Title: U360s Setup Question
Post by: (+_+) on November 28, 2009, 04:06:32 pm
Hi Everybody,

I was wondering if there is a way to set up 2 U360s so that they act as one controller (like the XBox controllers). I have no problem setting them up in mame to
work independently such as for games like Robotron, but when I try to set them up for Bullet Candy, RIP, Geometry Wars and several other similar type PC games,
it is an inevitable mental hernia wating to happen. I try using XPadder and that doesn't seem to help. Is there any way to accomplish this within Ultramap or XPadder that someone
has figured out. Truth be told, I got it to work for Bullet Candy at the expense of having to tape down the left mouse button so it would fire which I found ridiculous.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't have the game, nor know what it is, but does it support keyboard control?
If so, you could map the joystick output to keypresses using one of several free utilities out there.

Sorry typo. I mean ofc Geometry wars Xbox live arcade game that has been ported to PC.
I am going to use PC version. In game you can move and shoot freely to any direction 360 degrees. This is why 8-way joystick / keyboard is not enough (it can be played with keyb but its not the same). Currently I am using Xbox 360 analog controller to play this kind of games.
Another similar game is Mutant Storm.

If you can play it with a keyboard, then maybe a utility that will take a joystick output and generate a keystroke might work?

I was trying this a while back for geometry wars but I had a problem where the Arcade VGA card i'm using wouldn't work with Geometry Wars so I stopped trying.
there is a knockoff game called Grid Wars but I couldn't get that to work either. I got a picture but couldn't get the 360's set up properly. It would only recognize 1 stick and not both for fire and movement.
