Title: No longer need, now HAVE vectorized Ms. Pacman Bezel for download.
Post by: Phreakwars on December 03, 2020, 06:29:15 am
Hey guys, got another side project going on using a Ms. Pac theme. Got most of what I needed from http://vectorlib.free.fr/MsPacMan/ but unfortunately, they don't have a vectorized image of the bezel. Can anybody help?
NOW HAVE!!!

OK, here are the vectored bezel files in 3 different formats .EPS, .AI, & .PDF attaching them to this post all in a .zip file.

Edit: Have also emailed vectorzorg to have them added to his website.

Would appreciate it, thanks. I'm doing a little bartop, had the cabinet company make me a customized stand for it that I can stick a fridge into. Not quite finished with it yet, need to paint the trim pink, but here's what I have so far (image is a proof, not actual).

I didn't find a vectorized version of the Ms. Pacman Bezel, but I did find a high-res(ish) scan that's been cleaned to the point it could easily be vectorized. I have a lot of the assets that'd be needed to make the vectorization process simpler... basically I have other stuff like a Ms Pacman Cocktail underlay with the instruction graphics, and I would guess I have some of the characters already traced in other files.

I can provide a dump of everything I have if you want to tackle it, or I might have some time next week... *might*. It shouldn't bee too intensive of a project... maybe 3 or 4 hours.. maybe 1 or 2 if the existing stuff can mostly drop in over the top of the simple bezel line work, hard to say.

I'm gone this weekend, unfortunately, to visit my wife's friends and get a new puppy. I love pets as long as they're someone else's. My life may be turned a bit upside down in terms of free time trying to train a puppy, and more importantly trying to train my family who have never owned a dog.

Anyway, let me know as soon as you can.

If you have a high res of the bezel, send it on over. I suck at photoshop but pretty sure my either my daughter can vectorize it or if I feel like spending some more, can have the graphics company here in town give it a go, thanks. phreakwars@gmail.com

So I spoke with my graphics artist gal up at the vinyl print shop, she said as long as it's a pretty decent image, she probably could vectorize it for me. After I get the work done, I'll upload a copy of the vectorized bezel and share it here on the forums. I see by past posts many others have been looking for the same over the years as well.

I had a fairly high res psd of it from an artwork HDD floating around the forum awhile back - here is a wetransfer link for the download (little over 430MB since it is not flattened to preserve the layers for editing  ) - THe link will be live for 7 days ( they delete it after that ) Hopefully it has what you need.

Thank you soo much. I'll bring that up to Marquise to work on. And man that is a huge file. I tried opening it in Paint Shop Pro since that's what I normally use, my daughter is the only one with a photoshop subscription. But anyways, PSP reported that it didn't have enough memory to open the file. At first I'm like "WHAT THE HELL, I HAVE 32 GIGS OF RAM". But then I figured out the memory error was just a limitation of PSP. So I then tried again using Gimp and was able to view it. VERY NICE!!

The error was most likely the scratch disk file setting in the program - Photoshop lets you increase the size of the file since it uses it to store info that will not fit in your system Ram in order to let you make edits etc. that can be reversed if needed ( needs to save the original steps so that it can back up if you make any mistakes ) - When dealing with multiple layers in a high res file the size can add up quick. And since the psd file saves the various layers when saving the file without any compression that could introduce artifacting and quality loss - so the file size grows quickly with 600 DPI files. ( which is why I used wetransfer since they allow large files since they delete them after a week )

Pretty sure the vectorized bezel is in this file unless I'm crazy? -> http://vectorlib.free.fr/MsPacMan/vect/MsPacStencils_2.pdf

nope. That's actually where I got all the other vectorized images I need, unfortunately the bezel is not listed. I should be good with what JDFan linked to, thanks.

Haha yup I'm crazy, I thought the bottom part was the bezel but I guess it's the coin return area.  My apologies!

Received an E-mail from my graphics gal, and she said in part:

Also, I think I'll be able to vectorize the image you were wanting. Might be a design charge of a 1/2-1hr but I think I can do it. Would you happen to have access to the design file of Ms. Pac facing/running that way? I think I can pull the ghosts from the other files and use them but not sure about her. That might be tricky to do if we don't have her.... Let me know and we'll go from there!

Can anybody help? I plan on uploading the file to my mega account and offering the link to it here when she's done, would appreciate any assistance if someone could help, thanks.

An update and some great news. My home-girl came through and has made a vectorized Ms. Pacman bezel. She sent me a proof image for inspection, this one has an extra "ARCADE DOUBLE UP" writing on the bottom for my own personal use, the file I'll make available for download  (when I pick up my thumb drive) will not have that. Thank you again JDFan for the contribution. If anybody else would like to host the image file when it's made available, be my guest.

Very cool of you to offer that up for others. I will not personally use it but I really like to see people share things like this. Especially when they had to put up money to get it done. Very generous of you. Well done.

Well, I just kind of figure, if I'm going through all the trouble to pay to have it done for my project, why waste all that talent and work on just myself when so many others have needed this as well. I plan on E-mailing vectorzorg@gmail.com and submitting it to http://vectorlib.free.fr as well so that others can find it.

Not a prob. Went up to get my pieces, they couldn't find the dang thumb drive she put them on. Shawn said he'll E-mail the .AI and .EPS files to me today or tomorrow if he can't figure out where Marquise stashed it. (She's gone for the holiday).

But anyways, here is my custom Arcade DoubleUp bezel completed:

Looks like the only thing missing is a Midway version of this (https://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=89&products_id=308) scaled to the correct size.   ;D

I thought of doing that, but decided I'm going to leave the open space for magnets.
