Title: Turtles Arcade
Post by: GameKing on July 31, 2012, 02:53:53 pm
Hello guys,

I'm Really happy right now! I finally got the Teenage Mutant Hero(not Ninja) Turtles. The cab and monitor are in perfect condition ;D
The game is great, you can play up to 4 players, it has hugh screen. I would say a must have for in anyones Arcade Room...

Hero Turtles?  I've never heard that before, was it a regional change to the franchise or something?

Very cool.  If the gameplay remains the same with the US version then that was one of my favorite games.  Buddies and myself blew SO much money on that game in the pizza place it's disturbing to think about.  All of us argued over who got Donatello though since he had the longest attack range.

Nice, always loved the turtles.  Never saw the brit version of the game before.  Art looks better.  Crazy british censorship thinking Ninja was too violent for you guys.  Been work on my US version for awhile, but mine is MAME.

Ah, I thought it was just a british thing.  Had to relook it up on wiki and it was United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland, Austria, Germany, and some other countries in Europe according to Wiki.  It also said they got rid of Michelangelo's nunchaku's because that weapon was banned from TV/Movies.  Also limited the use of their weapons.  Does the game have his nunchakus?

No I haven't made a post.  Probably will once I get it finished.  I bought an old NFL Blitz 2000 Cab that was all beat up and been converting it to Turtles, so it's not a true TMNT cab.  Just one I got real cheap and got the art from gameongrafix.

Here's a few pics.

Why not use the original blitz CP?

Didn't exist and I wanted a bigger Mame cp.

Slight highjack, sorry.  You said the side art came from GameOn...  Is it a vinyl or laminate or what?  I'm so nervous about spending any substantial money without actually seeing the product.  I know GameOn has a pretty good rep around here, I'm just unnaturally nervous.

It is calendared vinyl that is laminated after printing.  Long lasting type of vinyl.  Very impressed with the quality and I make my own vinyl stickers.  Don't have a printer though.

Make sure you are very specific when you order.  I had an issue with the tmnt marquee having a huge block of black across the bottom.  Apparently that is how the original was made, make sure you review their art first and get exact measurements you want, they did work with me and I was happy with the end result.

Looks awesome, but the cp does not really fit the cabinet, it's too hugh. I would change that..
The side art looks great on the  NFL Blitz 2000 cab, so that was a good choiche  :applaud:

Yeah it's huge, but I wanted everything on this cab because its a full MAME, not just TMNT.  Two 7 button  8 way setups, 2 four button 8 way, 1 4 way joystick, trackball, spinner.  I think it will look a lot better once I put the cp down with art and populated.
