Oooo, new thread smell. Went to target and wasted 40 minutes of my time yet again today on a no-show for a discounted game they are supposed to have in stock. I think I'm done with deals involving them.
Got the VR headset from Walmart for free via gifts cards from the cash-back program so I'm counting that as a freebie.

Got $30 for the season pass, which will cover Wipeout, Ultrawings, and Farpoint for my PSVR. More VR games I'll play once.

Here's a good one if it actually works for you. 2 Months of Audible + a $15 Amazon credit. It says it's for new members only, but several people with old, inactive accounts have gotten it working. For me it says to come back on 1/16 to activate.... probably because I just cancelled an Amazon trial leftover from Xmas.

Most likely means they signed you up for an account on Planet Fitness as well as Audible - and both will start to charge you a monthly fee in a couple months when you hopefully will not remember to cancel each separately since you never entered any info to get it but did give them permission and your info to start the charges on your Credit card - So be sure to cancel both !!

I don't think so, I just clicked on the link.... there wasn't a signup page or anything. It's illegal to sign someone up for something without a TOS page. I'm not even on the free trial yet.... like I said, it said to come back tomorrow.

A few years ago I bought a refurbed vitamix blender direct from the company. I think it was around $280 and while I liked it, I had a bit of remorse for spending the money.
A day after it was delivered, a second one showed up on my doorstep with an identical invoice. ;D
Credit card was only charged once and there is a law that if someone ships something to you that you didn't order, it is yours to keep.
(This is to prevent companies from randomly shipping you things and demanding payment.)
I sold the second one to a friend for $200 and was then very comfortable with my purchase.
Last year there was a Vitamix class action lawsuit about black flecks getting in your food. (never had the problem)
I debated for a bit, but submitted the serial numbers from both blenders for the class action lawsuit. >:D
The settlement came through today, but was only a $70 credit toward buying a new blender or container.
The containers are $140, so they are basically just selling new containers without making as much profit on it to people who wouldn't have bought them otherwise.
Since I had two submissions, it was enough credit to get a container for free. :applaud:
They still stuck me with $5 shipping despite getting the smaller $130 container.
Still a win in my book.

Picked up 2 free 25” monitors from a local — a WG K7000 and a Wei-ya 826HR. They are reported working, though I won’t know till I power them up. Both don’t have any burn-in, one doesn’t have a mounting frame (the wei-ya).
I know the wei-ya’s don’t last long, so I don’t care much for that one, but I’m happy to have grabbed the WG.
Gonna have to decide what I wanna do with these, project-wise.

Humble Playstation Bundle going. They accept Amazon Payments, which means you can grind out the money in mTurk. Figure I'll go for the $1 and play through Bard's Tale again.

I wish just once the Humble Bundles weren't entirely full of indie sleeper titles that I have to look up on the internet. Well I knew about Grim Fandango so I guess there's that.

I briefly worked from home circa 2005 and action RPGs on my Xbox were the only thing that got me through it. Never quite beat Bard's Tale... I recall the difficulty spiked super high towards the end and then it was time to reconsider my direction in life and go to graduate school. I also recall all the snarky humor and such petered out a couple of hours into it but it was a decent bash enemies game.
Talos Principle is supposed to be good. Rest of them I'm in the same boat as you.

I'm just complaining. A bunch of games for a buck are still a bunch of games for a buck, it just seems like the Humble Bundles have really went downhill in terms of having highly visible games in them.

I buy games and don't play them. I played this one more than most.
I enjoyed the puzzles early in the game, but at some point the game felt like it shifted to a "wander around and find all the things" kind of game.
Pretty sure I paid 10 bucks for it and don't feel ripped off. I will probably go back to it someday.

You need a club ubi account, but I've had one since 2007 without issue, so it's fairly painless. This is one of the side-scrolling spin-offs... I hear good things about it.
Finally found an ambidextrous flight stick that's fairly modern and fairly cheap, so I used the last of my Walmart credit to buy that. So no more Walmart freebies.

This isn't particularly new, but if anyone is interested, Xbox has a free 14 day trial for their game pass right now. Just sign up and instantly cancel. You can play all the games on their pass offline or online.

Target is doing a buy 2 get one free sale with all media (games, board games, movies, ect.) I think I've about mined them of all of their budget video games, but just in case someone is interested.
