Title: Mame 144 u7 new features for arcade monitors?
Post by: bent98 on January 30, 2012, 02:48:29 pm
I just saw this in the 144 u7 release notes and was wondering if it would help make emulation of mame games more accurate from a refresh perspective?

Major overhaul of VGA memory handlers, added CGA, monochrome emulation and
fixed text banking while at it [Angelo Salese]

VGA: Fixed Double Scan / Maximum Scan Lines condition, and removed a
bunch of kludges [Angelo Salese]

CGA: fixed display disable read flag [Angelo Salese]

VGA: first attempt at adding proper refresh rates [Angelo Salese]

Nice spot, what does it all mean!

Will this play nice with crt emu driver without a groovymame build?

I think this is related to emulation of systems that integrated VGA and CGA hardware, so it will just improve accuracy for those specific systems. It's interesting nevertheless.
