The plan is two have a 2player bartop with each player having there own screen and cp.........
think two bartops back to back.....
now we have decided that we are going to build one..... but when we place two bartops back to back.... the top kinda looks odd..... anybody have any ideas?
-
What do you mean by odd? Just too bulky?
-
Side by side angled (like the Beast)? For back to back, it would probably have to be sitting on a wide bar or narrow table.
-
You may need to provide a picture or some type of illustration.
-
Something kinda like this: (sorry fast mod in paint ;D)

You may need to provide a picture or some type of illustration. By the way, I just took a look at your website and the level of detail put into that Space Invaders cabinet is truly impressive. I wish the front of my cabinet could look as nice as the back of yours.

How about you put those plasma plates in between the two bartops. I'm sure you've seen them around there's several builds with them around here. (see pic). Or depending on your theme maybe some artwork will do.
Good luck with your build. Can't wait to see some pics.

we were thinking carbon wrap with a perspex windows.... but plasma sound cool!

Instead of having the tops angle down and back, what do they look like level across?

thats the bit that looks odd.... when its level...... i just want to place my pint on it! ;D
-
It just needs to be alot thinner, about half the size in the middle.. Otherwise its gonna just look like two bartops stuck together.
-
I agree with it needing to be thinner. Might try having the tops of the backs of the monitors pretty much touching, and having a two-sided shared vertical marquee, so the top of the cab is only the thickness of the marquee (~1" or 2).
-
Get a tubular piece of acrylic, cut in half, put on top, light it up!
-
I've always thought the Tron cab shape would make a good Vs Machine with screen and controls on front & back. What about a Tempest shape?
-
flat, lose the marquee area, and put a double sided marquee box on top, like a topper

you guys have any examples of these?

Kind of like this, but imagine it lit, two sided, and back to back...

Keep em separate and just link em with a cable... that way you can go back to back, side by side, or at a 90deg angle from eachother. Also if you want to ditch one screen all together and just use a gamepad or joystick and plug it into the connector port:

Besides..... How do you play back to back on a bar.... You vs the Bartender?
-
I like the idea but I think you would either need a dedicated table or legs of its own making it more of a cocktail than a bar top...
