Title: Howler PCB - Troubleshooting JOY1
Post by: lobeline on July 10, 2017, 10:30:34 pm
Hi everyone,

I'm new to this realm, and tried to tackle a MAME project. I had a Howler 4P PCB I wanted to use and tried that. I have a 2P config, and I wired everything up. For some reason though I cannot get JOY UP nor DOWN to work. I've tried swapping out the cables, daisychain, and even used a different joystick. Nothing seems to be helping. I have nothing plugged into either 3V3 ports. And I did unscrew and tighten to each wire coming in.

Any advice? Thank you!

if the wiring is good, it's probably dead inputs.  not much you can do. contact whomever you got it from and see if you can't exchange or return it as defective.

Move the wires to unused inputs and remap your controls in MAME.
