Hey all
I've bought a couple of Electrocoin Midi cabs. They're going to be a pair, one vertical, one horizontal in my garage gameroom, running jamma boards....

The vertical one will mainly be running vertical shooters from the 80s (flying shark, truxton, commando, raiden, that sort of thing). I'll probably make this single player - one nice australian MCA short-throw joystick in the centre.
The horizontal one will be for a variety of games (all 80's). I expect I'll make this 2 player.
So far I've come up with the following names:
Horizontal one: Horizon
Vertical one: Vertex
If anyone has any suggestions on alternative cool names, or themes for marquee and CP, happy to hear! :cheers:

Quite a collection you're going to have there. I'm not a fan of the electro coin standard artwork but the cabs are a great shape. Good call to re theme them. Are you thinking just marquee n cpo or full sideart too?

Hey Mark, how's things? Got your vpin sorted yet? :)
I'm not overly keen on the electrocoin std artwork either. I'll probably keep the side panels without artwork to keep it simple... they won't really be visible in the game room anyway. So it'll just be the marquees and cp overlays I think.
I also have recently bought an Outrun US upright, a Defender and an Asteroids cabaret... The Outrun is working but I'm still doing it up nice with NOS replacement parts where I can, but the Defender and Asteroids don't work - they're project cabs. You'll have to pop down see them. :cheers:

Not yet. Had a break from building for a while. Planning on wrapping up the tabletop build over the next few weeks and then look to start it. Looks like I may need to get rid of the invaders cab to fit in a vpin tho so need to have a big think about it.
I've gotta be down your way in a couple of weeks so will give you a heads up when I know when and see if you're around. Be good to see those cabs!

Hah nice work with MSPaint :applaud: Good man. I'm def digging "Blaster"... Not feeling "Master" tho... but it may grow on me!

Think I'm settled on "Blaster" for the vertical. Perfect name. :applaud:
Still not sure about "Master".... but I'm mulling over both "GrandMaster" and "Raster" for the horizontal.
Just hope it doesn't turn out to be a "disaster".
