Title: Snes9x cabinet streamlining script. Hide menu on excution route esc key to kill
Post by: kelroy on March 17, 2008, 12:56:58 am
It is my belief that Snes9x is by far the best super Nintendo emulator i.e., it is the best suited for an arcade machine environment.  there is however a issue, sne9x on launch the menu is present.  this is fixed in normal use by hitting the esc key but on most cabs this key is routed to kill most emulators.  plus the unsightly menu on startup.  it is a simple script that simulates an "esc keystroke on startup(you never see the menu) and then reroutes the esc key to kill the emulator.

NOTE: In version 1.51 a cfg setting was added to auto-hide the menu on start up a wrapper is still necessary in order to route the esc key to end the emulator.

Why do people have to e-mail you to get the files? Standard practice is to attach it to your post or host it somewhere so people can download it. If it's just a compiled AutoIt script it should be small enough to attach to a post.

Wrappers are always in demand, infact there is a page on the wiki here (http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Wrappers) where you can post links to download them. If you create a post and attach the file, add a link to it on the wrappers page in the wiki.

BTW You don't really need a wrapper for NEStopia AFAIK. To remove the menu go to View->Show->Menu / Dialogs. Also you can change the key to toggle the menu by going to Options->Input->View->Toggle Menu. You can also change the menu color to black in Options->Preferences.
