Title: Supermodel network!!
Post by: Boomslang on February 26, 2018, 03:50:05 am
Spindizzi has done some amazing work and just updated the network emulation

Scud Race and Daytona 2 both work over network now!!

I was having some crazy graphics going on with scud race but Daytona 2 seemed fine

 :applaud:

Well Done Supermodel team and especially Spindizzi

Does this mean online play or just LAN multiple computers connected with eachother?

LAN really, but hamachi etc should work

I forgot to say that Dirt Devils, Ski Champ and Harely Davidson are all working too

Scud Race has graphical issues and only Power edition works on daytona 2

I'm on holiday in Morocco at the moment. I only found out about it because I'm still getting YouTube comment notifications to my phone. Look forward to trying it out when I get home.

This is incredible news!!  Are you using SVN 715 to run these games in network mode?

I tried Daytona 2 yesterday with the V1 and SVN exe's on seperate cabs (windows 10) but both game sessions just hang at the initial screen (where it gives game info and master / slave info). Games never started up in attract mode.
I'm just going to wait a little until it is more stable.

I was able to get Super GT (Scud) linked and working across two PC’s, but beyond the graphical issues mentioned earlier, the performance was very sluggish and the game stuttered badly. Amazing progress so far with this and I’m sure one day soon we will be able to play without using the performance killing “no-threads” option.

OK, back from holiday today (horrific last leg of the journey home due to the extreme weather we're having in the UK at the moment), and had a play around with this today. Here's my first upload:

Daytona USA 2: Power Edition

Edit - and here's the second:
Scud Race

You need to use the Supermodel-net715.exe not the Supermodel-net-v1 one. I made this mistake at first and couldn't understand why Scud and Daytona USA 2: PE kept hanging.
