Title: regular playstation problem after pad hack

hi, guys.  I hacked the sony psx pad (2 of them) didn't turn out good, sometimes i got all the punch and kick works but the directions didn't.  Anyway i went and bought a performance pad.  Hacked it and wired it everything seem to work when i plug in my psx ( the gray color one not PS1), it worked just fine, HOWEVER, after that  i use the sony pad, the whole controler didn't respond to the system (you know like press start, kick or punch, nothing happended).  so my playstation can use the hacked performance pad, but not the sony pad. i know it kinda weird.  If anyone knows this kind of problem please help.

Best advice is to use a multimeter with continuity test and make sure your connections are good (and none are grounding out except for the single ground wire that is).  This is a very simple hack, and there is pretty much only one way to screw it up.

A friend had PSX controller port die on him, got it fixed but aparently quite common.

Make sure its not one port only that does not work.  The after market pads often require more power and like to blow the psx internals, maybe just a fuse I dont know.

Just thought that it may be relivant.  :-/

did you try the sony pads on another console

you could of fried the pads
