Hey folks.
So I have been waiting like 2 years to post this - because I was always thinking the next one would get working for me.
I cannot get this to work. AT ALL. I started trying on .171. Help.
Tried straight in command line mame.exe neogeo -cart1 maglord -cart2 mslug (etc). Tried loading with bios and memory card and without. All have the same outcome.
"maglord" approximately matches the following
supported software items (best match first):
Fatal error: Device Neo Geo Cartridge Slot load <> failed:
If I go straight mame.exe maglord, works perfectly. If I try mame.exe neogeo -cart1 maglord (or whatever rom name) it will just go to the test grid (basically loads the bios).
I haven't tried this on straight mame because I don't care about straight mame for my Neo cabinet.
Config is legit. All paths are fine. This is the only thing that is not working - everything else is flawless.

This works using 0.196
Make sure MAME can see your hash directory and neogeo.xml is inside it.

How do you actually create the neogeocard.mc file?

Thank you for that. I haven’t found anything relating to the hash folder or that xml.

To do the memcard creation load a neo game and tab > file manager. You can create it there.
