Title: DWJukebox 3.4 Released
Post by: Chris on February 18, 2010, 03:14:34 pm
DWJukebox 3.4 has been released.  This version includes discrete command buttons (On/Off commands as opposed to simple toggles) for most toggleable features for ease of use with remote controls.  In addition, a new User Timers feature has been added for skins; look for upcoming development blog (http://dwjukebox.com/category/devblog/) articles to describe how this new feature works.  In addition, new page change animations are available, and animation in general has been improved and is less likely to cause song stutters.  Finally, PNG is now supported in both skins and the Slide Show screensaver.

Here is the full changelist for 3.4:

As usual, the latest version is available at the DWJukebox.com download page (http://www.dwjukebox.com/download).

  • Added DisplayOutputFile to [Settings] section of JUKEBOX.INI.

Looking forward to playing with this.

It's the same display.txt that has been there, the new setting just lets you relocate or disable the file, mostly for those on flash drives.

Well where the heck have I been then ??

Still looking forward to playing with it.  ;D
Hadn't gotten the display running yet on my juke, and that's all it's lacking functionality wise.

I tested it with LCD Smartie, so if you're using that you should be good to go.  :)

I have been running version 3.1.1 in my juke since I put it together and have been totally happy with it.
Guess I just missed the update when the DisplayOutputFile was incorporated.
Just glad to know now and maybe I'll get back to working on that part of it.

Cool..... now I just have to dig back through some of the readings abut the LCD Smartie and such to see how I can work that into an LED display versus and LCD display and all that jive. (I know I read something about it one time at least) The microcontroller principals seem about the same, just driving of the LED segments might have to be taken care of differently, etc. I dunno, been awhile since I looked into it.

Either way..... ought to be fun to play with.

I didn't want to lose all the changes I've made to the configuration file on my older version,  so I just copied the .EXE over.  It works fine,  but animations are non-existent even when I adjust them.  Any suggestions?

Just copying over the EXE is fine, you'll just get the default settings for any new options that aren't in your INI file.

If you set DebugLevel=3 in jukebox.ini, start the jukebox, change pages once, then exit, and attach the resulting jbdebug.log file, I should be able to figure out what's going on.

Thanks!
