The rumors of Star Wars are scary. Like, I want to believe the cabinet with a good yoke could be available for not a lot of money, but it seems super unlikely. That combined with the fact that I think Disney would release a Star Wars cabinet if there was to be anything released.
If anything, they might make a driving cabinet. Maybe pole position 1 and 2

Crazy. Didn’t see that coming.

How many of you have chubbies now? :)

You gotta admit, that’s unexpected.
I have a full size Star Wars. Curious how this plays.

I’m actually genuinely curious to see -1 do his tear down on this. Curious to see the yoke construction.

This is guaranteed to elicit emotions...yoke is gonna make or break it. That was a proto...we will see if the final yoke will look, feel and play well.

The yoke will definitely make or break it. That said, I doubt that they'll build something exactly the same as the star wars yoke, because that thing is pretty complex for something that really just reads from a couple of 5K pots. How well a re-design will work? :dunno
-
I predict it will suck balls.
-
Maybe, but still kinda cool to hear news on this front.
If the real a1up cabinet they sell has the same shape and artwork as the prototype type, it’s a pretty sweet unit.

Hopefully they are using the original plans on the thing from Atari ( Figure Tastemakers seems to have some decent connections in CHina for sourcing parts - so if they get the build plans from Atari it shouldn't be too hard for them to reproduce cheaper than the current repros being sold) - IF they are decently built it will at least provide another option that is a bit cheaper than the $499 repros out there now ( if the entire cab is going to be sold for under $500 it would have to be less than that for the yoke ! )

Thanks to Cooltoy for pointing this out.

It would have been hilarious if they released a cockpit version at 50% of the size of the original. You would need to cut off your legs to fit into it!

Just read that they used an Alan-1 yoke for that prototype, but that it’s not the yoke that’s going to go on the final unit. Alan-1 did state that he was going to have a chat with the company. Curious to see what happens. Some good info here, and reactions...

So did the Golden Tee not ship with a Happ Trackball? I was under the impression it had one, but some posts have said otherwise. Anyone know?
