Well i had a go at setting this up last night , messed around for about 3hrs and got no where really , im pretty sure the crt driver wont install
I followed the instructions that are posted on AO and it looks like the driver is installing correctly from the set up but when i run vmmaker it says no driver detected an if i run arcade osd it also says at the top , no crt driver found ? if i try to run the groovymame.exe it says i have a problem with switchres
its driving me mad now  i tryed uninstalling the previous drivers a few times but it didnt work , maybe when i updated XP windows also updated my GPU and it is causing a conflict ? any ideas , oh how i love setting computers up

Which HD4350 you got?
Search for HD4350 on here, you'll find a few people with issues, and their fixes.. there's even one just a few threads down...

Yeah i had a look through those threads , very interesting
I think my best bet would be to boot into safe mode and delete all gpu drivers , ( whats the best software for this ? ) and then add the modified files to the driver and then reinstall in safe mode ? sound good ?

well you need to find out if your card is the same..
get the device ID info like they have.. if it matches, then use the files that match etc..

It's most likely this.
I've double checked the drivers and they do contain your specific card device number so there's nothing wrong with them, and they indeed got installed.
It must be Windows replacing them by its own newer version.
What you have to do is to remove the existing version manually. You do that by entering the device manager -> video cards -> driver -> uninstall. When you reboot, you should see an exclamation and the card should not be recognized. Iterate the process until you get it. Then it's ready to install CRT Emudriver.

ok thanks , ill try again this weekend , windows hates me :banghead:
-
still cant get this to install :banghead: any good programs i can use to clean drivers in XP64 ?
-
Hi trev1976,
If you can't seem to get the driver installed, it could be the installation program has not properly finished updating the registry, but the driver is actually installed. Try setting this in vmmaker.ini (by the end):
AnyCatalyst = 1
This will force VMMaker to install the modes. Then select 640x480@60 and restart. You should have 15 kHz then.
