I am steaming right now.

Here's what happened:
I emailed them asking what would be the cheapest option for shipping a couple E-clips and dust washers. Flat, light items they could have sent in an envelope for a couple dollars. The guy wrote me back and said Fedex ground.
I went through checkout to see what shipping charges were but they took all my information and didn't show shipping charges and on the last page it said "finish checkout" so I figured ok like all websites it'll take me to another page with shipping charges and a submit button. But nope, it said your order was finished and we'll email you when we ship with shipping charges. I immediately emailed them and told them to cancel the order. Not to mention they charged me 45% tax. Well they shipped it THEN replied to my email saying
"The attach order confirmation notification stated the following:
"Exact Shipping & Handling charges will be added at time of invoicing:"
Thanks,"

Never buy direct from Happ.

File a disputed charge with your credit card company. It's pretty simple and quick. The charge will immediately get reversed off your card.

Yup. I emailed happ and told them I would unless refunded before end of the day which is in 3 minutes for their office. She emailed me back saying she forwarded it to upper management.

Yeah, we all have made that mistake once. ONCE.

Well this is not the first time someone has posted on happs shipping.
Just so you know, you can find those clips from other places. Even home depot

I found mine at my local true value. It was easier to compare since I had one from the joystick I had not put together.

For the benefit of people coming across this thread in the future, divemaster can get anything Happ has, but charges reasonable shipping.

Well, almost anything.
For the (very few) things that he can't -- or won't -- get from Happ, try to use only the flat-rate shipping from Happ or pick it up at the warehouse if you're in the neighborhood.

Yeah, I had to go through Happ for some pricey video lottery terminal buttons.
Each 3/4" button was in it's own 4x4x6" box with those boxes stacked inside a huge box.
I assume this is how they are stored in the warehouse, but geez that's not a very efficient use of space.
It also doesn't help the shipping and handling charges.

I ordered my 27" bezel directly from Happ when I was new to this hobby. I had heard on there forums (even back in 2007) that it would be ridiculous to have shipped because it was so big. I later learned that those huge shipping prices applied to tiny items as well (but luckily I never got burned).
Because of this, I called the Las Vegas office and some guy answered and was super helpful. I complained about the shipping charges and he somehow arranged to have it shipped super cheap (for it's size). Can't remember how much at the moment, but it was under $15.
On a side note, I wonder if they would accept a self addressed stamped envelope, stick the small stuff in there and mail it out. Probably not...

Eh, the handful of times I ordered from them it was reasonable. But I was ordering a large chunk of stuff and not a few small items. Perhaps they should instate minimum orders to lessen these like Digikey used to have back in the day. :dunno

Yeah, shipping changes from Happ suck. But if I can't find it from a solid vendor, I'd happily pay it to avoid some of the arcade vendors around. Like all things it's give and take. I can spend a month tinkering with something that I could have bought for $5 just for the fun/entertainment of it. Other things I don't want to bother with. So, it just depends..
But, that tax is down-right criminal.
-
yea, if your close best bet is to pick it up. only time the shipping isnt that bad, is if your buying more then 2$ worth of parts.....
-
10 bucks for an illuminated button? Yeah, they are insane. I was paying 2 bucks 2 years ago for these buttons from Happ.
