How much for the plans?
-
What does the back look like?
-
Oh wow. These look great! Can you put ups some more pics including the back?
Thanks!
-

Yea can we see some more photos? how does the light work
thx

More interest here...
-
Seems like there is a lot of interest, but no response from the seller... hmmm
-
...I also reached out to this seller months ago and never hear back.
Too bad...they look like neat kits.
MameMaster!
-
Well I placed an order and he did respond to me. :)
I'll let you know when I get it.
I'm still not sure how I will stuff everything I want in there though.
-
Whoa! I guess I better get in here and defend myself! I haven't been online much lately, so I apologize for the lack of response. To answer some questions, the back consists of a thin removable panel, I will get a photo of it up soon. The light is an 18" flourescent tube, mounted approximately 6" behind the marquee glass, with a standard 2-prong 110v plug. As far as responding to PM's and emails, to my knowledge I have returned all the messages I have received...if I accidently overlooked one I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I have sold two of these so far to BYOAC'ers, one has been shipped and the other is almost done, so I will let them respond with their review of the product once they receive it. Also I am working on some custom full-size cabinets, more on that later.
-
Will you make any plans available for us DIYers or is that a proprietary thing? If so I understand.
-
I will probably make the plans available in a ZIP file that contains the Photoshop templates, PDF, and AutoCAD formats. It would take me a little time to clean up everything so it would be useable, I would probably charge a small fee (like 5-10 dollars) to cover my time, if several people are interested.

Yep, me too.

email sent!
-
OK I will get some plans made up then. Also due to my schedule I am about 2-3 weeks out on projects now.
-
Also I am working on some custom full-size cabinets, more on that later.
Any plans for a cocktail kit as well?
-
Hey
I am interested in the plans too!! much cheaper and less cost for me in Canada!!! count me in and please let me know!
-
Received the Bartop yesterday and thought I would post a pic or 2 and write a quick review.
Item is well build and put together.
It's all pretty much ready for you customize and with Xmas fast approaching it's just what
-
Thanks for the pics of the back! I am hoping I can get a 17" monitor in there (without the case). I guess we will see when I get mine in. It hasn't shipped yet.
Cameron
-
Yeah thanks for the photo of the back. ;) I lost the charger for my digital camera :(
I just did some measuring and a 17" should fit if it is removed from its case, although the back panel of the cabinet will need to be modified to accomodate the length of the tube.
-
Here's a couple more pics:
-
Every once in a while I am tempted to put in a LCD because I could get some more screen real estate, but I'm sure the picture quality wouldn't look as good. I think I have a 17" around that has a touch screen with the outside bezel cracked. I can pull that out and try it before buying a new 17"
-
Oooh I already ordered mine. I can't fricken wait! ^_^ Thanks for the pictures dude.
-
Matt, you out there? Anyone heard from him? I dropped him an email a couple of days ago and haven't heard anything...
-
Are you going to offering plans
thanks
divemaster
-
Where are you supposed to mount the PC? Looks awfully tight...
-
Matt, I have sent you emails, PM's with no response... It's been 2 weeks.
If I don't hear from you by midweek I am assuming you are ripping me off and will take appropriate action with PayPal
-
Crap, I was hoping the plans would get out there.
-
Ditto on the plans
-
Sorry for my absence, guys, but plans are available now! I've been out of town, and then sick, sick, sick! But I'm back now, Nailz did you get my email? I'm not here to rip anyone off!
As for the plans, I am including the following:
Scale drawings and dimensions in both Abobe Acrobat (PDF) and AutoCAD format (in case you want to tweak 'em!)
Template for sideart in Photoshop format (just drag-n-drop!)
And some notes on how I put them together, as well as some assembly photos.
Everything delivered to your email in a convenient ZIP file for a mere $10. Interested parties can send PayPal to weedzie1@yahoo.com.
Thanks everyone for your patience!
Bubs
-
Yep, I got it, thanks for getting back to me, looking forward to getting the cab!
-
Mr.Bubblehead. I haven't heard back from you either. If you emailed me I haven't seen it. I'll be around... I'm being patient though. :)
-
I'd really like the plans but will hold out paying for them until the people you owe come forward that things are settled.
I have no doubt you will settle but it would be foolish to place new orders with someone that has outstanding delivery issues.
-
I ordered the plans sunday & received them monday morning
thanks
divemaster
-
How are they?
-
they are ok, i would like to have seen more prints with measurements but again they are descent

I order the plans as well, and I received them litterally within minutes of placing the order. I guess we were just on-line at the same time. I did comment to him that I was hesitate about purchasing because of his lack of communication, but he assured me that most of the missing correspondence was because of a mistake on his end.
Plans were not to bad. I suggested to him he include a few more pictures showing assembly of marquee, etc. Can easily work with what is on the plans.

Did anyone figure out how to handle the PC in this thing?
I mean, it looks pretty sweet and with MAME fever catching and all, I'm like everyone else and would really like one, but I'm a bit cautious about how to really put it together.
Anyone?

Shouldn't be any problem with mini-itx or hacking a JAKKS game
-
I'm still far too much of a newbie to understand what you just typed.
Translation, please, if you don't mind?
I'm trying to ascertain costs here--from a machine perspective, etc.
Thanks!
-
Mini-itx - very small PC motherboard
Jakks - those 4 in 1 plug into the front of your TV joystick games at the toy store.
Jakks is definitely the cheaper way to go, though also not as authentic.

I would think that if you can get any motherboard that has your video intigrated onto the motherboard, then you should be good to go. You may run into space issues if you have to run any separate PCI/AGP cards. I'm sure a lot of it will have to do with how you mount your monitor. (leave it in the original case, or disassemble monitor and mount it)

One thing that I was curious about.

I saw that post. Looks really nice. Are you sure your not gonna keep it? ;D
-
Well, I've been out for a few months but I'm back...and bumping this thread because my bartops are available once again. I now have two styles available, the original Midway style cab, and a new Gyruss-inspired cab:
The price on them is now $149 + shipping. Due to my workload, the turn-around time is 2-3 weeks. I have a boatload of extra t-molding in just about every color available, and I will include some with each bartop as well. The cabs are available constructed in your choice of either MDF or particle board (part. board weighs a lot less than MDF, something to consider for shipping).

dumb question. Is there enough room to put an xbox inside that thing?

I am embarrased to say that I have never seen an xbox in person (bear in mind that I am old, the "newest" console that I own is a PSOne and I bought that used), but I have no doubt that it would fit. Changing games might be a bit awkward, though.
-
Not to take away from him, but why not just get this:

You'll hear back from them, it's not much more expensive ($199) and looks nicer.

Still selling these?
