Title: Materials for prints
Post by: Solodus on December 31, 2019, 12:19:30 pm
Hello everyone. I have around 20 arcade machines that need sideart, cpos, and marquees printed for. I have a relative with a dye based wide format printer that is willing to make the prints for me if I provide the materials.

What do you guys recommend for sideart/cpos and marquee translites?

it kinda doesn't work that way.

what materials you use are going to depend on the particularity of said printer. "dye based" only narrows it down to a few thousand models.

I know the epson surecolors require the use of specific materials... i'm not sure any of which would be self adhesive vinyl you could use for sideart...but i'm not terribly digging into it.

your friend would have a better idea since he obviously has some kind of commercial quality printer and would know what materials are available for it.

It's an HP Designjet 800. It's an inkjet aqueous dye printer. He's a contractor so he only uses it for blueprints. He has printed some really great photos for me from some large photo paper that I've purchased.

HP recommends HP Colorfast Adhesive Vinyl according to their support page - https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bpp03077
