Title: 1UP Arcade Additional Control Panels
Post by: ark_ader on November 09, 2018, 11:59:27 pm
OK so my 1Up Galaga arrived and I like it, but it is limited to say the least.  I want to add more control panels to it.  I was going to just buy some wood and make copies of the cabinet, which would be fun but I do not have the room.  I also do not have the riser yet to add to my misery, so I thought why not not make some control panels for it.  I want an asteroids, Tempest, a four player gauntlet and a general everything panel.

I have the LCD control unit added to my Pi3+ and a Steam Link for the graphic demanding games that need a beefier machine.  I also have a Ender 3 and I want a Starwars controller panel too down the road, but that can be another project.

So magnetic strips to hold the CP and a USB dock connector for the KADE, a custom shelf/rack for the back to store the CPs and to add more weight to the cabinet or do I make it rotate?

I looked at the original 1up rotating control panel. Remember this: (http://1uparcade.rmfx.com/images/CProtation.gif)

It would save room...

How hard can it be?

Looked at making a small barrel for 4 control panels with a two door locking mechanism that have those hidden euro hinges all rigged up to a KADE.

The panels I would be needing are:

Two joys two buttons + two additional controller ports.

Five Buttons only.

Spinner two buttons

Trackball two buttons

Each panel to be 5 inches wide x inches deep x 15 inches in length.

haha... It's been a few years and I'm just catching up on things but as someone that was around when 1UpArcade meant rotating control panels, this comment made me laugh!  This is an old topic but thought I'd ask here, is there anything new in rotating control panels in the last 12-15 years?
