Hello all, I'm just getting my feet wet in GroovyMAME. I've built a few MAME cabinets but only with LCDs. For a future cabinet build, I'm planning dual CRTs to properly play some playchoice and Vs. systems games.
I've found lots of people using an LCD and CRT for dual screens (one for modern and one for vintage games) but I'm looking to hook up two CRT arcade monitors. Is that possible and will using something like one of these cards be appropriate (I got them of Calamaty's list)?

The R7 370 has dual DVI so I *think* it would work but have never set one of these up before so just seeing what people think before buying. Thanks

Of the multi output video cards I have had working with CRTEmu, it is always the case that only one of the outputs is Analog and the other outputs are Digital. I am making an assumption here, but I am pretty sure CRTEmu only works on the analog output. So you would either need a video card that has two analog outputs, or run two video cards each with a single analog output.
NOTE: Do not buy anything based on the above info alone...this is all hypothetical. I have not tried to run dual CRTs and wont pretend to know what is going on under the hood of CRTEmu. It could be the case that CRTEmu will only work with a single CRT monitor or with a single Video card. Unless someone with experience attempting this speaks up, you might need to do some testing on your own.
Good luck!

Vga + DVI-I.
I would THINK you could use both, both are analog outputs.

Ahh thank you both. I forgot to watch out for DVI-I versus DVI-D.
I like the card you linked nipsmg. I may have to give it a shot, it's cheap enough on ebay.

i just wonder the same

Let us know if it works. Haven’t tried it, would be interesting to know.

I'll update this thread with how it goes. I just ordered an r5 230 that has a VGA and DVI-I port. It'll be several weeks until my build is actually at a point that I can test this but wish me luck!

I'm using a dual crt config (Sony Trinitron 15" horizontal + Commodore 1084S vertical) with a Radeon R7 240 GPU and it works.
I use an DVI-D to VGA adapter because the GPU has only 1 analog output.
I have only one issue, a light noise if both monitors are on, so for example if I play a vertical game on the Commodore, I turn off the TV (and viceversa).
Now I bought a Asus Radeon 5450 with dual analog output (VGA + DVI-I) and I hope to be able to try it asap.

I know topic is old but I would like to know if this works. I've found used Arktek Radeon R5 230 with seems to have DVI-I.
