Title: Are there ANY motherboards that run AdvanceCD with audio/video?
Post by: waname on December 01, 2004, 03:18:48 pm
I searched through the motherboards at both ewiz.com and newegg.com, looking for something that would appear on both the "supported audio" and "supported video" lists for AdvanceCD (the lists differ from AdvanceMAME).

I couldn't find _anything_.

With a 2.something GHz celeron D selling for about $75 and motherboard with
integrated audio/video selling for about $60, it should be a snap to add some RAM,
plug in an old power supply and CD drive, and get MAME up and running for about
two hundred bucks.

Are there any AdvanceCD users around?  If Intel Extreme graphics works with AdvanceCD, then life should be rosy all over, but I can't find any references.

Sign me frustrated and confused.

Wan.

for starters i would never get a mother board with onboard video .. this is just a disaster waiting to happen .. dont do it - onboard is good for a server that doesnt need to do anything more than draw windows , but anything else is a waste.

as for audio you should be able to fin a ton of boards with Onboard AC'97 Audio on them
this http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-136-137&depa=1 would do what you want .. of course you need a real video card
