Post by: mjnman on October 12, 2021, 05:37:40 pm
Hi,
i'm looking for horizontal coil for my MTC 900 E because it's locked, dry and didn't turn.
Please, where I can buy that coil?
The manual sed "28060330 Amplitude coil 523920903"

Hi, I had the same problem as you do with my amplitude coil. (But from a Hantarex 9000)

What I did was making the mistake of trying to turn the ferrite core to quick with a fair amount of force. The core is very brittle and the slot for the screwdriver wore off.

What I then did was, I desoldered the coil. If you look from the bottom there will probably be another screwdriver slot on the ferrite core.
I took a flat screwdriver that fit exactely in the slot. I gently build up the turning force. With the emphasis on gently. I made sure the force was in line with the core by making sure the screwdriver stayed in line with the core. I heard some squeeqing and ‘moaning’ comming from the ferrite core. But it eventually started turning. First slowly, then more freely. First I thought the ferrite core was broken in half. But it fully came out freely. I could place it back and forth.

Maybe you could warm up the plastic a bit with a hair dryer so the resistance is a bit less. (Or add some WD4 or electronics spray to lube the core although I don’t know if that will react with the ferrite)

Take my advice at your own risk. I am only a stranger from the internet. I can only say it worked for me, and as I understand new ones can only be salvaged from other boards.

Good luck to you if you choose to do an attempt.
