Title: cps3 emulator arcade_osd on 15khz
Post by: trick72 on October 26, 2015, 04:20:08 am
Hi,

I tried to run the cps3emulator (nebula) on a 15khz arcade monitor with crt_emudriver.

I created a modeline for the native resolution 384x224 @ 60hz. I was able to run the games at that resolution with the emulator now, but the scrolling is very jerky. So I don't think the refresh rate is like it should be.

Is it possible to run this emulator with smooth scrolling? If so, any idea what modeline I should use?
Thanks

Haven't used Nebula. Anyway jerky scrolling does not mean wrong refresh rate but emulator not synchronizing to refresh rate. In other words, you can have silky smooth scrolling over a totally odd refresh. The actual reason to create exact refresh rates is to avoid modifying the emulation speed. In short, you need to enable "v-sync", "vertical synchronization", "synchronize to screen refresh", or a similarly named option in your emulator.
