So I'm starting to build my own Jukebox.
will be PC based with a touch screen
the motivation is I'm having my 40th in November and were doing an 80s themed party, so I want all my 80s music on it for people to pick songs they might not have heard for years.
The unit will end up in the front room at home afterwards.
I will update this thread as i go.
I have some thoughts in mind but any thoughts from you guys would be greatly appreciate

What Kind of styles do you like. There's lots of guys that have or are taking old console radio's and turning them into touchscreen jukes...

Build from scratch. Prob 18mm MDF.
Will post the shape I came up with (based around a sub enclosure I already have) as soon as i can get into a format I can post.
Would like it not to show windows at all just boot strait into it and play most audio formats.
flashy lights?? not sure how to do it.
Buttons as well as touch??
Have a fogger as wel, should I put it in too??
Colour, paint finish? I think a metal look finish(hammered metal??)
So as you can see Ive been discussing it with a few mates, but would like some other input on the guts and finishing "flare"
Do you know of a site with pics of other cabs for ideas?

the shape came from two things really, 1 was the sub box i already had(the dark bit on the bottom)
and 2 the shape of an upright arcade cab.
I have a spare 17" LCD monitor that i will put in the top face and get an industrial touch screen overlay for it, the one Ive seen they hit with a hammer to left click icons so i think it should be strong enough :D

nice work so far mate , heres my finished juke , i onlly have to put the metal jukebox letters on when i finally get some , i can recommend the griffin powermate volume knob, it has six functions that you can map to so you can map things like skip song , clear playlist etc to push in and turn etc

I'm curious, since I can’ tell from the pictures how you will ventilate the subwoofer ports out from the jukebox cabinet. It really needs to breathe and there is a lot of air that will be moved by the woofers. Or is it that big blue/gray circle in the concept picture that will be the vent hole?

Hi guys sorry it took so long but life got in the way.
But the box is 99% finished, cosmetic tweaks, but fully functional will post complete pics and a vid hopefully this weekend.
I like this design, and the work so far is inspiring.

Once the sub was sealed into the cab I drilled several 100mm holes in the box, you will be able to see this in the next set of pics. The grey circle is a 14" lightning plate, like a flat plasma ball for those who don't know
