Hey all. I just ordered a dreamcast vga cable and I am juiced to hook it up to my JPAC but I wanted to make an arcade stick for it (or rather a 4 player arcade pedestal) that has analog sticks for use with power stone and zombie revenge. would there be a way to hook up an analog arcade stick to the dreamcast controller's analog joystick pins?

Use the KADE miniArcade 2.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,154126.0.html) to output as Playstation1/Playstation2 (see RJ-45 to PS1/PS2 cable pinout on pg 7 of the User Guide) with a 3rd party Playstation to Dreamcast converter. ;D
You will need to reassign a few ports using the Mapper software, but that isn't difficult.
You should be able to build the whole interface with the following:
- Soldering iron and wire strippers
- 32u4 AVR board (you can solder directly to the AVR board, no need for the daughterboard or RJ-45 connector)
- Wire
- Analog (potentiometer) stick(s)
- Microswitch joystick (for D-pad) and buttons
- Playstation cable with male connector
- 3rd party Playstation to Dreamcast converter

EDIT: To be clear, you will need a separate AVR board for each player controller.
4 players with analog sticks ==> 4 AVRs
EDIT2: Native Dreamcast output support added to miniArcade 2.0.

I have started working on adding native Dreamcast output support to the miniArcade 2.0.
Hopefully the firmware size will fit the AVR memory.

You can do this via a xarcade controller board with the DC adapter. You switch from digital to analogue.
I would go with the Kade as it would be less hassle.

would there be a way to hook up an analog arcade stick.....
Where do you intend to find an analog arcade stick?
They are out there, but they're like $200 a piece.

Divemaster carries a variety of analog sticks/trigger-sticks for less including this kind (http://www.arcadeemulator.net/cgi-bin/shop/cp-app.cgi?usr=51F5867087&rnd=2026822&rrc=N&affl=&cip=&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=AnalogJoystickwithUltimate+&cat=Joysticks&catstr=HOME:Joysticks) for $125.

I've just released a new miniArcade 2.0 firmware with native Dreamcast output support:
