Title: Help to Build a Replica Taito Ice cold Beer
Post by: thiagomax on November 02, 2017, 08:37:59 pm
Hello guys, my name is max and I speak from Brazil, I work with video game repair for 14 years, and I have some experience in building arcades machines, I have been looking for a way to build a replica of ICB, TAITO of brazil did not import this machine here only pinballs, that way I do not have a palpable reference for measurements or anything like that. I search for months on the internet similar projects, but everything I find is some people building one but not sharing information about how they did it, everything about this machine seems to be a black cloth hiding everything that is information, I believe that it does not speak alone, I'm sure there are several people with the same dream trying to have one at home, at least in my case is the only way to get one because the import of an ICB would be very expensive, because not only of its price as its size and weight, I would have to sell an organ to have one.
Well, all I have so far are just reference pictures of assemblies and restorations, some sketches of measurements (I dont know if they are reliable, after all I have none for comparison), I also have a Coreldraw image of the playfield is already of great help but comparing with a real picture seems to have some differences. I also have some high resolution images of the CPO, and some of the Playfield Glass. but the most important is willpower.
I believe the best way to control the entire machine would be a Raspberry PI or an Arduino Mega board
here I put a list of things we need to build one.

* Vinyls art
* measures in general
* audio from rom (I tried to use AUDACITY but to no sucess)
* size of the ball (I believe to be 5/8 '' but I would have to have someone confirm that)
* bar thickness
* 8-segment led panel.
* a Raspberry or Arduino board
* audio amplifier
*step motor
*wires
*led
* an arcade control (the best brand I believe to be Seimitsu, and also the most similar)
* a translucent and concave start button
* micro button
* one of this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ice-Cold-Beer-Zekes-Peak-Taito-Reproduction-Back-Playfield-Piece/112620646867?hash=item1a38b6b1d3:g:y-QAAOSweW5VLFuE (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ice-Cold-Beer-Zekes-Peak-Taito-Reproduction-Back-Playfield-Piece/112620646867?hash=item1a38b6b1d3:g:y-QAAOSweW5VLFuE)

summarizing would be there, in the course of the process we would add things,

all that I have achieved and achieved in the course, I will be sharing so that other people can help and also enjoy the project.

Who is with me on this adventure?

Are you building the internals as well? Or are you going to emulate it via vpin?

According to his parts list, he clearly intends to build a mechanical version.

Godspeed.  :dizzy:

You should start by looking at Le Chuck's Space Base build here:

well, with the help of vwalbridge file, I was able to collect the measurements and transfer to the coreldraw that I have most used, as I have access a CNC router need to have everything archived in 1/1 scale for the cut, I am sharing the file so that they can see what you guys think, I'm thinking of making cuts for fitting just like the original one. I'm not so sure about the size of the glass, because in the photos I've seen the glass comes in a few inches below the CPO.
