Title: Help with Ultimarc iPac 4
Post by: ClarkPower on August 28, 2017, 06:52:03 pm
Hope this is the right place to post!

I'm having issues setting up a used arcade that I got as a gift.

It says I-PAC FOUR ULTIMARC on it, but unlike the version on this website (https://www.ultimarc.com/ipac5.html (https://www.ultimarc.com/ipac5.html)) the writing is on the bottom of the board rather than the middle.

I bought a Windows 7 PC to work with it, downloaded the 2004-2015 software from this page (https://www.ultimarc.com/download_old.html (https://www.ultimarc.com/download_old.html)) because I know the previous owner had it from at least 2011 though I doubt earlier than that.

I then selected run as administrator on the software and tried to press the "Program" button. When I do, it says "Driver Intalled OK" but then a popup says "Failed to Program Device." Under Devices and Printers, my computer seems to think it's a barcode scanner.

When I try to test keys and press the buttons on the arcade cabinet, nothing seems to read, but sometimes the buttons makes the windows fly around like I'm pressing Alt Tab or Win+arrow keys.

Any ideas? I would really love to get this working :)

Have you tried to update the firmware?

You should not need to program it as such as they store their own settings.
It should be detected as a keyboard and when you are in notepad or similar act like one.

Try uninstalling it, unplug it then plug it back in see if it detects properly?

If not prob worth giving Andy at ultimarc a shout.
