Well, I got me a 6 Player X-men arcade. It isn’t in my possession until this Friday evening. I plan on restoring it after the holidays and I was wondering if anyone knew of a place, or website that sells either new, refurbished, or new old stock arcade parts. I would love to have original parts, but if I’m unable to find something I’ll settle for new. I’m not exactly sure what I need so far, but I do know I need the coin mechanisms.
Anyone here have one of these machines, I’d like to talk to you and maybe get some part numbers if possible.
Also, I saw a thread where someone was trying to replace the 2 CRT’s with a single LCD. Was that accomplished? If so, I’d love to know how. Isn’t the one image reversed because of the mirror?
Thanks for the help!

It is not called restoring if you throw an LCD in there. Stick with CRTs. Ebay and craigslist are good places to get original controls.

For actually hardware, I will tell you it will be hard to find. Check over at KLOV. There may be a few that have spare parts, also check out the arcadeboneyard.com Otherwise you could make due with some ball top joysticks over at focusattack.com
I agree, stick with the CRTS. If they work use them... much better picture for a game like that.
And lastly you don't need working coin mechs... That machine has free play.

Any update on progress?

Here it is when I first got it. It turned on and played, sound worked but needs to be fixed because the leaking has started. The right monitor was struggling. I took it to a local expert and he fixed it, along with the one on the left.

It’s kinda frowned upon to link a restoration thread to another site. You should post your progress here as well rather than linking.
