I'm running Windows XP SP3 in my cabinet and the first launch of advmenu takes an eternity. Subsequent launches are normal. This makes the boot time of my cabinet a bit longer than I'm used to. Anyone else having this issue. My guess is it's an SDL issue, but not sure what to do.

I've gathered a little more info last night using Process Monitor. It seems after a fresh boot, it takes a lot of time reading all of the xml files (and the HUGE mame.xml) and then iterates over all of the rom folders and snaps, etc. This takes quite a while.
What I don't understand is why it is doing it only that first launch, and then after subsequent launches it only takes a second or two. I checked my clock and that is running OK, so it can't be that.

Probably OS cache is now loaded with all of those files. Subsequent launch is reading essentially from RAM vs Disk
