Title: Best way to attatch loose spade connectors without soldering?
Post by: lifeofbrian2007 on February 17, 2018, 04:12:34 pm
I've just bought a USB joystick board and a joystick and buttons but I'm not satisfied with the fit of the connectors, every time I mess with my build half the connectors come off, it's driving me mad. What do you guys use apart from just the physical connection.

Pinch them tighter with pliers you git.

LOL, I've done that with my last two button boxes I made and I wasn't happy with the result.

Where are they coming loose? Pinching is not just a simple thing...it really does take practice and the correct tool to do it well enough. You can't just squash them with pliers and hope they hold firm. They won't. Get a good crimper, grab some wire similar to what you are working with, and practice on some 2" to 3" pieces. You will get it. Spend $5 for connectors.

Don't be insulted by pbj. He's been at it for too long.
