Title: Zero Delay controls not working in Maximus Arcade

I bought a 2-player set of controls with 2 Zero Delay encoders. The controls work as expected in MAME/Daphne. But Maximus does not respond to the controls at all. I have configured them properly in the Maximus settings. And Maximus works great with my Tankstick.

Is this a known issue? I realize I'm mixing abandonware and a cheap set of controls. but it would be great to make it work.
