Title: USB LED Lighting
Post by: dprush83 on March 09, 2012, 11:21:04 pm
Has anybody used these for coin mech lights?  They're dirt cheap and easier than messing with my power supply (which makes me nervous). My concern is that it may not be bright enough, though. Would love to hear if anybody has used anything like this...

I just used LED bulbs that fit the sockets for the original coin door lights. You can see them in this post (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=108719.msg1228154#msg1228154). No messing with the power supply if you're using an LED controller.

Not for coin mechs but I did use them to light trackballs. They're easy and quick, but not the cheapest way to go. Plus you can't control then with an LEDWiz unless you hack them apart, and at that point, you've lost the "quick and easy"
