I got some more LCD marquees from my supplier for you guys. I'm asking $200 for each kit, shipped to US addresses.
Here's an example of what can be achieved with this kit.

Faq:
Q: But that doesn't fit my whole marquee size!
A: I'm sure you can work some elements into your design, maybe speakers?
Q: Can you get other sizes?
A: No.
Q: Can I buy these new somewhere else?
A: Sure, get on aliexpress. You can buy this exact size but it's around $475.
Q: Are you a reputable seller?
A: Yes, see "cjj_speed" on ebay. I have over 650 100% positive feedback
These are LG monitors with a native resolution of 1920x1080 that have been CUT in a fancy factory in Korea. Your computer will see it as a normal full size 1920x1080 monitor. They have been cut roughly in half (the top half). These displays are LED lit and modern. They really look fantastic, just as you'd expect from a modern LG monitor.
The resolution of these are 1920x530.
The inputs are:
HDMI
DVI
VGA
What you will get:
USED panel
NEW controller board/button board/LED driver
NEW power supply 12v
Basic instructions to plug the connectors into the panel are located further down in this thread.
This is a one shot deal. I can't get more of these when they run out. I can't offer a warranty beyond just shipped and working.
PM me if you want one. I accept paypal and will send you an invoice when you provide your paypal email address.

Circuit boards powered on top of carpet... Mmm... :drool
-
Fortunately, carpet isn't a very good conductor.
-
Unfortunately static charges are bad for electronics.
-
Most marquees are 6”x23.5” (Atari) or 9”x23” (Midway). If someone has a cutdown lcd monitor close to those sizes I’d be interested.
-
Shame your US. I'd have had them all. Proportion wise they look good and for a 19" main screen they'd work well.
Carpets are bad for static tho so I wouldn't test them again on it ;)
-
If you're truly interested we could work something out for international shipping.
-
Any still available?
-
Yep! thanks
-
still available?
-
how do I go about buying one?
-
Interested.
-
Sorry for the late reply - I'll send you paypal details if you'd like to purchase one.
-
I missed the example image. That is a 'forward' cab design. I love it.

I've had several questions regarding the XML configuration to use these displays with LaunchBox BigBox. Here are the steps.
- Make a duplicate of the default theme folder C:\Users\Arcade\LaunchBox\Themes\Default. I named mine "Marquee". LaunchBox won't let you modify the default theme (it will undo your work on launch) so this is an important step.
- Edit the file "C:\Users\Arcade\LaunchBox\Themes\Marquee\Views\PlatformMarqueeView.xaml"
- Edit the file "C:\Users\Arcade\LaunchBox\Themes\Marquee\Views\GameMarqueeView.xaml"
- Set your theme as the default in BigBox

Here are how the ribbon cables attach to the panel. Be VERY careful as this connector is fragile.

Here's the LVDS connection to the controller. I'll likely ship your panel with the LVDS attached to the LCD already due to the connector being so fragile.

Insert the ribbon for backlight in this orientation.

I have ONE pixel perfect remaining and ONE with the slight blemish on the bottom edge.
I have 17 on their way to me.
-
I'm just posting here to remind myself about this for a future project...
-
resurrecting an old thread as I didn't see any mention of being out of stock. If Meltman is still around, would you still have any of these LCD Marquee's available? I'm guessing not, but felt it was worth a shot. thanks.

Same here.
-
Do you still have any available?
-
Hey guys, I'm still around. I have ordered several more LCD controllers. I have lots of panels and power supplies but no controllers currently.
Once they arrive I'll let everyone know. Sorry! I had some people buy out my stock.
-
I have a handfull more A+ perfect panels with controllers and power supplies ready to ship right now.
-
Received mine a few days ago. Display was packed securely and item is in great shape. I Hooked it up last night. With the config files listed above (and then finally remembering to turn Marquee to Monitor 2 in the BigBox settings) everything worked perfectly!
Will take me a while to mount it, haven't decided if I want to put it where the Marquee should go (which means I'll have to build some kind of bezzle for it) or put it at the top of my cabinet...#realworldproblems!
attached a picture of it working, just not mounted yet.
Shout Out to Meltman, this product is outstanding and just what I have wanted. considering others are 5-6 hundred dollars, I think it was a bargain.
Thanks!
-
picture of it sitting atop my cab (better than the last picture of it sitting on a chair :) )
thanks again Meltman!
-
That is going to look awesome when you get it all mounted up!
-
I am interested in purchasing one of these Bar LCDs.
-
I am interested.

Thanks everyone for the overwhelming response. Looks like the whole world suddenly has time to do their arcade project.
As of 4/30, there are THREE TWO ONE remaining "A+" panel kit. An "A+" panel has no large blemishes or "clouds" visible. The panels may not be *completely* perfect - they are used, but I consider them "perfect" for their marquee purpose.
After that, there are 2 "A" panel kits. An "A" panel has one to two "ghosts" or small "clouds" that you can only see on black backgrounds. These kits will go for $180 shipped. The panel in my personal arcade is an "A" panel.
After that we go into "B" panel kits. A "B" panel has blemishes along one or more edges protruding up to 5mm into the panel screen. You can make your bezel a little smaller and alter the parameters of the code I posted before to "trim" off these areas. These kits are $150 shipped.
After that... well I doubt you want my C/D/F panels, though they might be great pinball dot matrix displays! Some are pixel perfect but have yellowing LEDs on the "C" panels. D and F, well, they show a picture.
So everyone is clear, I tested each panel on my carpet while shuffling my feet *laughs at first reply*. They all work and I preconfigure the LCD controller for you to display the "menu" in the center of the cut panel.
-
Mine arrived today, intact and functional. Thanks!
-
Looks fantastic!!!
-
I don’t know why, but I never even thought about replacing my og marquee with an awesome lcd/led panel/monitor!! Not gonna lie, this kinda blew my mind!
Too bad there’s no lcd/led sized panel that could replace my original marquee on top of my full “deluxe” arcade cab :embarassed: :-[
Has anyone found or have created an lcd/led panel to replace a full arcade cab’s marquee??
-
Howdy meltman, with the power to melt!
I made an account here just so I can message you so I can purchase one of these sweet displays for the cab I'm working on due to all this free time.
DM me if you can! I don't think I can because my account is brand-new?
I'm interested in one of the "A+" ones.

It was a gift, little did we know it didn’t have the board attached. So on the hunt I go. Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Are the b1 and b2 identical except the b2 has that dark yellow spot on the bottom right. BTW would you happen to have anymore A grades? I also love your cabinet on the first page. Did you make that?
-
Everything is sold.
Thanks everyone! I cant wait to see what you do with them.

Thank you I have the board all works so far just have to figure out the aspect adjustment.

Hi Folks, has anyone found a good way of mounting these panels up? Any tips appreciated!
-
I basically used wood blocks to "sandwich" the panel between two surfaces with felt tape to insulate between surfaces.
The screws on the side are a very bizzare metric half thread pitch thing. I think they are like M2.5.
-
Got it mounted and up and running. Looks awesome!
