Title: Raspberry pi composite switchres
Post by: keilmillerjr on November 13, 2018, 05:27:13 am
Using raspberry pi with built in composite, running raspbian stretch lite. Running mame 0.203.

Am I correct that built in composite is limited to ntsc/pal resolution (or half vertical for 240p) 60/50hz? HDMI has lots of options. Can firmware be hacked? Would using hdmi with a composite be a better option?

Forgive my lack of knowledge on the subject. I run switchres in my arcade machine and it just works.

Is there an image of that set up floating around?

No. I’m compiling things myself. Waiting on an rPi 3 b+ to arrive in mail. If current mame is quick enough on that hardware, I’ll eventually release an image. Will attract and mame only. Not a retropie fan. It’s slow as ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- in comparison. Need to save up $40 for sd clone app. I used the trial and it works amazing.
